On Gear Live: Samsung S95C: The OLED TV You Can’t Afford (to Ignore!)

Anna FrielAnna Friel is returning to television. The 36-year-old actress is set to take on a co-starring role opposite Friday Night Lights actor Kyle Chandler in Showtime's drama The Vatican, according to Deadline.

The show has been described as "a provocative contemporary genre thriller about spirituality, power and politics set against the modern-day political machinations within the Catholic church."

Anne will play Kayla Duffy, the younger sister of Kyle's character Cardinal Thomas Duffy. Matthew Goode will play Papal Secretary Bernd Koch while Sebastian Koch is set to star as Cardinal Marco Malerba. Production is set to begin in Rome next month.

Anna recently revealed she relies on "vampire facials" to retain her youthful looks: "I'm still smoking but I've cut that down to three or four a day. My brother's a doctor and he's created a smoothie that's good for the skin. And I have this thing called a vampire facelift - they take a phial of blood out of your arm, separate the plasma and inject it in your face. It helps the skin repair itself."

Kathy BatesKathy Bates has joined the cast of American Horror Story.

The Misery actress will star in the third season of the show as the frenemy of Jessica Lange's character, and creator Ryan Murphy promises she will be a "bad, bad woman":

"Oh, Kathy's never [played] someone this bad. Her [character] is a bad, bad woman! [The character is] five times worse than [her] Misery character -- which is why she liked it. When I pitched this to Kathy, her mouth was drop-jawed because what I was pitching actually happened. It's a true event ... You'll see. It's some good stuff."

Kathy revealed late last year she was looking forward to returning to work after taking time off to undergo a double mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis: ''After much consideration, I underwent a double mastectomy. Luckily, I don't have to undergo radiation or chemo. My family call me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception. My doctors have assured me I'm going to be around for a long time. I'm looking forward to getting back to work doing what I love."

While the pair have been involved in a public and bitter feud over LeAnn's current and Brandi's former husband Eddie Cibrian, Brandi, 40, wants LeAnn to join the reality series in order to make her look better.

"Brandi is a very smart cookie and thinks that if LeAnn were to join the cast, the audience would hate her even more. Brandi loves playing the victim and having LeAnn on the show would allow her to continue in that role as the long-suffering, spurned ex-wife," a source said.
